The Xake theater company has just put an end to the first phase of its creation residency at TOPIC. It is the first residency of its kind to take place at the International Puppet Center after confinement.

On this occasion, the company is immersed in the preparation of the play “Fadoak entzuten zituen gizona”, which is scheduled to premiere on September 18 at the Leidor theater in Tolosa.

On stage the actors Iñigo Aranbarri, Ane Gabarain and Kepa Errasti. The direction is carried out by Getari Etxegarai and the deputy director, Xabier Ormazabal. The author of the work is Txarli Andrade.

The residency will take place in three phases. This first one, which took place at the TOPIC, was aimed at making a small sketch of the text so that, when the scenery arrives, we can begin to “clean up”, direct the scenes with more specificity. At the same time, Eider Ibarrondo and Isabel Acosta, the designers of the set, are preparing it so that they can work on it in the second residence.

From July 6 to 14, the company will move to Biarritz, to the company’s space Théâtre des Chimères. And on September 1, the third residency arrives again at the TOPIC, where the lighting and sound technicians come into play and the part called the elevation is done, which is to include everything necessary for the work to come to life.
