The celebration of the III Days of Playwriting for Children and Youth hosted by the National Dramatic Center in Madrid are being held these days. They represent the consolidation of a reference event around theatrical writing and the possibility of amplifying its impact towards the international arena.

A great opportunity to reflect on theatrical writing for children and young people and their opportunities for participation; the relationship between the professionals and the public they are addressing; the dissemination of creation aimed at boys and girls; the connection of the performing arts with other fields, etc.

Four days of conferences and workshops with specialists and professionals of recognized prestige. In the workshops section, TOPIC has been in charge of coordinating a couple of them that are being taught by the two co-directors of the Tolosa center, Juanjo Herrero and Estitxu Zaldua.

‘The object on stage and its dramatic essence’ is the title of the workshop given by Juanjo Herrero, at the María Guerrero Theater in Madrid, on November 30, December 1 and 2. The workshop is presented as a practical proposal, for professionals belonging to various fields of the Performing Arts, delving into the dramaturgy of the theater of objects and puppets. Its objective is to analyze and put into practice different examples of professional companies that use various manipulation techniques to build new forms of theatrical and visual dramaturgy.

The second of the workshops, given by Estitxu Zaldua, is entitled ‘The objects on stage’ and is aimed at girls and boys from 6 to 12 years old. Its objective is to encourage one’s own imagination through characters that are built using everyday objects, giving them life and giving them personality. It will take place on Saturday, December 3 in the Mirlo Blanco room of the Valle Inclán Theater and will take place during and until the end of the performance ‘The weight of a body’.
