The puppet theatre of Formosa.

2020 | Taiwan
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Spain and the International Centre of the Puppet of Tolosa presented the virtual exhibition “The puppet theatre of Formosa”. This was the biggest collection of Taiwanese puppets ever to be shown outside Taiwan, which, although due for March 2020, had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. Now, with its quarantine long since over, a team of professionals has developed a virtual project of this same exhibition that is presented to the public on the website https://www.teatrodemarionetasdeformosa.com
We can walk around the exhibition, offered in five different languages, from our own homes and witness the history and magnificence of this array of unique pieces brought over from Taiwan.

Thanks to a selection of a hundred and eighty puppets of all types and an array of stages and traditional musical instruments, this exhibition talks us through the history of Taiwan and introduces us to the culture of the isle.

With a potential opening in mind, the exhibition stayed in Tolosa until November 2020.
