Born in England in the year 1811, the paper theatre spread all over Europe as a family-friendly theatre until the beginning of the 20th century. After a period of neglect, its rebirth came around thirty years ago thanks to artists from all around the world. It is a type of theatre that suits both younger and more adult audiences.
One of its forerunners is Alain Lecucq, a referent at a European level, who offers us an exhibition consisting of a compendium of his work throughout his career.

We will trace the history of this type of theatre, beginning with documents and items related to the development of this practice on the outset of the 19th century. We will then have a look at the contemporary paper theatre by means of a video that shows extracts of plays. Come and visit this one-of-a-kind exhibition!

The museum will be closed on Sunday afternoons (except from 21.06.2026 to 15.09.2026), on January 1 and 6; in Carnival from the 12th to the 18th of February, on June 20th and 24th for the San Juan festivities and on December 25. On December 24 and 31 in the afternoon.
Access to the theater will be closed 15 minutes after the start of the performance.
