I Am Pinocchio.

Escalante Centre Teatral | 2012 | Valencia
Pinocchio’s story isthat of a wooden toy carved by Geppetto, his father, and turned into a child by a faery. But, are you sure that the tale you have heard tells of his real adventures?

This exposition, an experience in itself between art and theatre, aims at making us reflect on such common issues like the relationship with our parents, diversity’s riches, integration, the search for identity, death, friends and loyalty.
I Am Pinocchio, produced by Escalante Centre Teatral, took us closer to a more faithful version of Carlo Collodi’s original tale. Pinocchio, a different child, a wooden puppet, dreams of becoming a real child so that he can become part of society, for which he will need to face countless decisions and struggles that the younger audience will identify with.

Can a puppet become a human being? Can a human being turn into a puppet? What is it that makes us human?
