Sofia, Alice and Domenico are three young Italians who have come to TOPIC, thanks to the well-known puppeteer Walter Broggini, to receive pedagogical training from the heads of different TOPIC departments. This training will help them in their respective jobs related to the puppet world and will introduce them to the topic of guided tours and workshops, their two objectives.

Sofia and Alice are from Novi Ligure, a town located in the Piedmont region, and at work, located in a historic theater from the year 1800, they have a small collection of string puppets donated by a historic family from the town, the Palavicini family. “The puppets are located inside a theater, but the space in which they are located is very small and we cannot do the workshops right there, so we are going to use the space offered by a bicycle museum in our town that already He has experience organizing workshops in different disciplines”, Sofia and Alice tell us.

Domenico also heard about TOPIC from Walter Broggini, who became his teacher and who suggested that he participate in this course to gain a better understanding of the puppeteering world.

Domenico is from Tortona, also located in the Piedmont region, and the Museum where he works is called Atelier Sarina. The puppet collection is stored in a museum located in an old palace in the historic center of Tortona. “In my city there is a tradition of puppets thanks to the Peppino Sarina Association, which is the entity that protects and promotes heritage. They are glove puppets that are exhibited in two rooms of the Museum”.

In both cases, and after this training that they are receiving at TOPIC, their idea is to launch both the workshops and the guided tours starting in the summer. We hope it turns out to be a complete success and that they send us the experience so that we can share it. Luck!
