The exhibition that houses the Ambigú with the pieces of the French painter and textile designer Maria Agnes Tramart comes to an end on May 31.

Born in Lyon, this artist currently residing in Hendaye has been self-taught, and continues to be so “the artistic fiber was present from my birth. Leon and his puppet Guignol, his silk weavers, the Canuts, a beautiful country apprenticeship within a large family. In the 1960s/70s, 1980s, learning at the university of life gave me the knowledge and teachings to get going”.

The richness of diversity has been one of his inspirations, hence G Klimt; G Moreau, Symbolist painters; CG Jung, analytical psychology, or Alexander Calder, American sculptor and painter, have exerted an important influence on his work.

At TOPIC, this French artist has found the opportunity to share a dynamic and welcoming space “of puppets and crazy ideas, a creative spirit is breathed,” she adds with interest.

For all his creations he uses recycled materials “With the small we can do the big, without taking up too much space. With small means and with old, useless, discarded, in that nothingness, we can find originality, the field of a possible other… the other look that intersects in these values, then, the symbolic language can sing in resonance”.

Currently Maria Agnes is working on a new project. Your creativity keeps flowing. “A long time ago I said “yes” the tap no longer closes, I welcome and share the result of Living Free, other places will gladly host exhibitions. Why not a live performance, a puppet show in the company of the characters on display at TOPIC, who will tell stories that are good for a smiling heart, during the next acts, who knows?
