The EVOC Project -Experimenting VOCational training for puppeteers- is a cooperative project on professional training for puppeteers based on 3 objectives: to experiment with new devices for professional training; develop a common reflection on the professional structuring of the field of puppetry and update the link between training and employment.
Within the Erasmus+ project, 14 young puppeteers from 6 European countries (Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Slovenia and Spain) were selected to participate in an experimental, transversal and non-conventional training course in the puppet arts. Among these young people is one of those responsible for pedagogy at TOPIC, the center behind the Project, along with five other European puppet centers: Center de la marionnette de la federation Wallonie-Bruxelles (Belgium), Ljubljana puppet theater (Slovenia), Synkoino cooperative (Greece), Teatro Gioco Vita (Italy) and UNIMA (International Union of the Puppet).
In the phase in which the project is now, the selected young people have just finished training in Thessaloniki (Greece). It is a workshop led by Sylvie Baillon (France) and Stathis Markopoulos (Greece) whose second part will be held from October 5 to 11, 2022 in Ljubljana (Slovenia) directed by Martina Mauric Lazar (Slovenia) and Fabrizio Montecchi (Italy) .
These workshops in Thessaloniki have been oriented towards the analysis and study of writing, staging in relation to the text and staging around the language of puppet theatre.
